The benefits of TankForms for Ohio UST Owners/Operators
The following are the three primary benefits.
Benefit A - Photographic Documentation
Benefit B - Additional Data Collection
Benefit C - Cost Savings
Benefit A - Photographic Documentation
Photographic documentation during the site walkthrough is invaluable.
Document that the various portions of the walkthrough inspection were conducted.
Document issues observed and activities completed through before and after photographs.
Near real-time sharing allows field personnel to share photographs with compliance personnel (no more texting).
Photos are stored “in the cloud” and are always available. This is invaluable during a compliance inspection.
TankForms walkthrough inspections forms always incorporate fields to capture photographs documenting. This includes both no issue documentation and before/after documentation.
Benefit B - Additional Data Collection
Not only does the TankForms data collection template for Ohio collect the required information to complete the BUSTR Walkthrough Inspection Form, it also collects additional valuable documentation from the walkthrough inspection!
The TankForms data collection template for Ohio includes fields to collect the data above. We then provide an additional form named the TankForms Walkthrough Inspection Supplemental Report. These responses may identify issues at your facility that will need addressing in both the short term and long term.
The BUSTR Walkthrough Inspection Form (form) requires you to place a check in the corresponding box to affirm the task was completed.
However, it provides the owner/operator with no information on the conditions of the facility at the time of the walkthrough inspection.
The form provides none of the following information.
What day of the month was the walkthrough inspection conducted?
Who conducted the walkthrough inspection?
Was damage of any of the spill buckets observed? If so, what was done.
Was liquid and or debris observed in any of the spill buckets?
Were obstructions found in the fill pipe?
Was there any issues with the fill cap?
Was the release detection equipment operating with any alarms or unusual conditions when the person conducting the walkthrough inspection arrived? If so, what was done?
Were the release detection testing current when the person conducting the walkthrough inspection arrived?
Was there a leak in the interstitial area of the double-walled spill bucket?
Benefit C - Cost Savings
For many owners/operators, this may be the greatest benefit. It is likely that there is already a person on staff who could perform the walkthrough inspections which would eliminate the need to pay a third-party vendor.
